Former North Carolina State starting cornerback Nick McCloud announced Monday that he is joining Notre Dame as a graduate transfer.
McCloud entered the transfer portal in January. He played in just two games in 2019 due to a knee injury.
In a decision revealed on Twitter, McCloud said he was “beyond grateful for the opportunity! ready to get to work”
McCloud sustained a knee injury in the season opener against East Carolina on Aug. 31 and didn’t play again until Nov. 9 versus Clemson. The team captain didn’t appear after the latter contest and finished with seven tackles over the two outings.
He started 11 games in 2018 and had 51 tackles and two interceptions. Overall, McCloud had 106 tackles and three interceptions in 36 games (21 starts) with the Wolfpack.
