Central Florida quarterback Dillon Gabriel announced Saturday that he will enter the transfer portal with an eye on playing elsewhere next season.

The UCF star has been sidelined since breaking a collarbone against Louisville in Week 3 of the season.

“After much prayer and reflection, I have decided my journey at UCF has come to an end,” Dillon said on Twitter. “I will be entering the transfer portal to explore other opportunities.”

Dillon has passed for 8,037 yards, 70 touchdowns and 14 interceptions in his three seasons with the Knights. The left-hander passed for 814 yards with nine touchdowns and three interceptions this season prior to the injury.

Dillon passed for 3,653 yards and 29 touchdowns in 2019 and 3,570 yards and 32 scores last season. The native of Hawaii was intercepted seven times in 2019 and threw just four in 413 attempts the following season.

Speculation has Ole Miss as a possible destination for Gabriel. Rebel star Matt Corral has indicated he will enter the NFL draft after this season.
