Quarterback Phil Jurkovec, who played sparingly during two seasons at Notre Dame, has transferred to Boston College, multiple media outlets reported Saturday.

The Pittsburgh native, who recently announced he would enter the transfer portal, would have to sit out the 2020 season unless receiving a waiver from the NCAA for immediate eligibility.

Considered a dual-threat quarterback, Jurkovec completed 12 of 16 passes for 222 yards and two touchdowns as a sophomore in a backup role in 2019. He also rushed for 130 yards on 22 carries. Third on the depth chart in 2018, he went 0-for-2 passing.

Three-year Boston College starting quarterback Anthony Brown entered the transfer portal in December, a week after the Eagles fired head coach Steve Addazio. Boston College hired Ohio State co-defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley to replace Addazio, who became head coach at Colorado State.

Brown started 28 games over the last three seasons, completing 54.9 percent of his passes for 4,738 yards with 40 touchdowns and 20 interceptions. He also rushed for four touchdowns and caught three touchdown passes.
