Florida State running back Dalvin Cook is day-to-day with a hamstring issue that doesn’t seem to be as serious as first thought.
Cook was injured while slowing down as he was running out of bounds during the first quarter of Saturday’s game against Wake Forest.
He sat out of the second half of the Seminoles 24-16 victory.
As the Seminoles prepare for Saturday’s clash with in-state rival Miami, Fisher said Cook would not take part in practices on Monday or Tuesday.
“Dalvin, his pull was not major,” Fisher said. “It’ll be a day by day thing and we’ll see how it goes. There’s still a possibility [he may play], he may not. We’ll have to plan both ways.”
The Seminoles are thin at running back and replacing Cook will be a challenge. The sophomore is averaging more than 142 yards per game and has scored six touchdowns despite being relegated to part-time status the past two games because of injuries.
His top backup, Mario Pender, has a collapsed lung and remains in a hospital.
