Louisville quarterback Jawon Pass will miss Saturday afternoon’s game against Western Kentucky with what was described as a lower-extremity issue.
Malik Cunningham will start at quarterback, with freshman Evan Conley backing him up.

Pass started the first two games for Louisville (1-1) and has completed 24 of 46 passing attempts for 330 yards. He threw four touchdown passes in a defeat of Eastern Kentucky last week.

Cunningham, a redshirt sophomore, appeared in 10 games last season, completing 40 of 67 passes for 473 yards and a touchdown. A dual-threat quarterback, he rushed for 497 yards and five touchdowns.

The Cardinals and Hilltoppers (1-1) are meeting on neutral turf at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tenn.
