Top 25 Scores: Louisville holds off UNC

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Damion Lee pumped in a game-high 24 points Monday night as 19th-ranked Louisville snapped No. 2 North Carolina’s 12-game winning streak with a 71-65 Atlantic Coast Conference decision.

Held to six points Saturday in Louisville’s 63-47 blowout home loss against Virginia, Lee connected on eight of 12 shots, including four of seven 3-point attempts for the Cardinals (18-4, 7-2 ACC).
Chinanu Onuaku overcame first-half foul trouble to finish with 12 points and eight rebounds for Louisville, while Donovan Mitchell added 10 points.
Forward Brice Johnson paced the Tar Heels (19-3, 8-1) with 15 points and 11 rebounds, and forward Justin Jackson contributed 16 points. But North Carolina, which came in averaging 85.8 points per game, canned just 34.5 percent of its field goals and committed 16 turnovers.Houston 71, No. 12 SMU 68
HOUSTON — Playing without its leading scorer did not prevent the Cougars from pulling off an upset of the Mustangs.
Rob Gray, who leads the American Athletic Conference in scoring at 17.3 points per game, sat out with an injured ankle. Devonta Pollard helped to make up for his absence, producing 23 points and seven rebounds for Houston (16-6, 6-4 American Athletic Conference).
SMU (19-2, 8-2) led by 11 early in the second half, but could not sustain its advantage despite 16 points from Nic Moore and 12 each from Ben Moore and Markus Kennedy.Texas 67, No. 15 Baylor
WACO, Texas — The Longhorns, led by forward Connor Lammert’s 15 points, won for the sixth time in its past seven games, taking advantage of the Bears’ foul trouble late in the second half for a pair of key baskets.
Texas’ Prince Ibeh made a hook shot over Baylor’s Rico Gathers, who was saddled with four fouls at the time, and went baseline for a powerful dunk that gave Texas a 56-49 lead with 4:32 left. Lammert added a 3-pointer from the right wing that gave the Longhorns a six-point lead with 44 seconds left.
Gathers led Baylor (17-5, 6-3 Big 12) with 20 points and eight rebounds, while Taurean Prince added 18 points and seven boards. Isaiah Taylor scored 12 for Texas (15-7, 6-3)
