PLAYERS TO WATCH

–QB Ryan Finley has thrown for a league-leading 352 yards per game, though the Wolfpack has yet to face an ACC team. His 1,056 passing yards through three games are the most for an N.C. State player at this stage of a season since Philip Rivers’ 1,068 in 2003.

–WR Kelvin Harmon is averaging 104 receiving yards per game. The junior moved up to 11th in school history with 1,791 receiving yards as he’s coming off a 150-yard outing at Marshall.

–RB Reggie Gallaspy Jr. has scored in each of the first three games of the season. With 50 carries, he has more than half of the team’s 96 attempts on the ground.

–S Jarius Morehead returned an interception 57 yards for a touchdown at Marshall. That’s the fourth-longest interception return for N.C. State since 2000. Morehead’s role against Virginia will be multi-faceted with the Wolfpack dealing with a versatile quarterback.

SERIES HISTORY: N.C. State leads Virginia 34-22-1, though the teams, who are in opposite ACC divisions, haven’t met since 2012.

QUOTE TO NOTE: “We want to continue to take those two-yard runs and make them 4 and 5 and 6.” — Coach Dave Doeren on the team’s rushing attack which is averaging 107.7 rushing yards per game
