PLAYERS TO WATCH

–QB Eric Dungey ran for three touchdowns against UConn and now has 24 career rushing scores, tied with Damien Rhodes (2002-05) and Delone Carter (2006-10) for the seventh-most in school history. Dungey is tied with Virginia Tech’s Logan Thomas (2010-13) for 10th on the ACC’s list for quarterback rushing touchdowns. Dungey’s three touchdowns tied the school record for rushing TDs scored by a quarterback in a single game and matched his personal best. Dungey also had three ground scores in 2016 against Notre Dame.

–RB Moe Neal recorded his first 100-yard rushing game against UConn, carrying 13 times for 116 yards (8.9-yard avg.). In his last seven games, Neal is averaging 88.3 yards per game, compared to 27.2 yards per game in his first 21 career appearances.

–DL Alton Robinson’s game-high three sacks against UConn were a new career high and the most for a Syracuse defender since Brandon Sharpe had four against Pittsburgh in 2012.

–DB Andre Cisco had his team-leading fourth interception of the season in the fourth quarter against UConn. The freshman entered Saturday’s contest tied for the national lead in interceptions with three.

SERIES HISTORY: Syracuse trails in its series with Clemson 4-2 but the Orange had a monumental upset last year in the Carrier Dome against the Tigers. After Clemson had won four straight games from 2013 to 2016, Syracuse pulled off the 27-24 shocker last year against the second-ranked Tigers.

QUOTE TO NOTE: “If you get a home run off of Nolan Ryan, what are the chances of you ever hitting another home run against Nolan Ryan?” — Syracuse coach Dino Babers about Saturday’s encounter with third-ranked Clemson on the road after the Orange upset the Tigers last year at home.
