GAME BREAKDOWN

KEY MATCHUP: Virginia’s secondary against North Carolina’s pass offense. Despite the Tar Heels’ 1-5 record, North Carolina has shown the ability to move the ball as it averages over 230 passing yards per game. The Cavaliers’ secondary has been the strength of their defense all season, allowing just 206 yards per game. Elliott is coming off a game against Syracuse where he put up 321 yards and two touchdowns while Virginia picked off Duke quarterback Daniel Jones two times. The Tar Heels will have to use short passes to get the Virginia defense off balance as the Cavaliers have been solid all season defending opposing team’s deep passes.

DRAFT SLANT

–WR Joe Reed has solidified himself as one of the best kick returners in the ACC. Despite not getting as many touches on offense as he may like, Reed’s ability to give Virginia good starting field position is critical and something that will be looked at when it comes to advancing to the next level.

ROSTER REPORT

–DB Joey Blount’s status for Saturday’s game against UNC is uncertain after leaving last week’s game with an injury.

–RB Jordan Ellis is expected to play against the Tar Heels after injuring his leg against Duke.
