PLAYERS TO WATCH

–QB Jamie Newman is set for this third career start and second on the road. The game at Duke is an assignment just about 25 miles away from his hometown of Graham, N.C.

–WR Alex Bachman is a senior in perhaps his final college game when the Demon Deacons go to Duke. He has 975 career receiving yards on 72 catches. His 60 receiving yards last week against Pittsburgh were his most since 62 receiving yards in the season opener at Tulane.

–RB Cade Carney has a team-high six touchdown runs this season. Five of those are from 1 yard out and the other a 2-yard run. He has moved into the team lead for rushing with 731 yards. He had three touchdown runs two years ago at Duke.

–LB Justin Strnad, a redshirt junior, has compiled a team-leading 89 tackles this season. In the two previous seasons against Duke, he has a total of three tackles.

SERIES HISTORY: Duke leads Wake Forest 58-38-2, including last year’s 31-23 road victory.
