The Alabama and Wisconsin football programs continue to beef up their future schedules, with the SEC and Big Ten powerhouses agreeing Monday to home-and-home series set for the 2024 and 2025 seasons.
The first game will be played on Sept. 14, 2024, in Madison, Wis., followed by the contest in Tuscaloosa on Sept. 13, 2025.
“We are excited to add another high-caliber, nonconference game to our future schedule,” Alabama head coach Nick Saban said. “We played a great game with Wisconsin in Arlington a few years back and this home-and-home series will be a tremendous opportunity for our programs to play in two of the best atmospheres in college football. Matchups like this are so important to the health of college football because it provides fans exciting matchups and players new challenges.”
The Crimson Tide haven’t played on Big Ten turf since a home-and-home series with Penn State took them to State College, Pa., in 2011. The last time the Crimson Tide played Wisconsin, Alabama won 35-17 in the AdvoCare Kickoff Classic in Arlington, Texas, the 2015 season opener. In its only previous visit to Madison, Alabama fell 15-0 in 1928.
“It’s exciting and healthy for everyone,” Wisconsin athletic director and former head coach Barry Alvarez told UWBadgers.com. “When we were contacted to see if we would be interested in a home-and-home with Alabama, I told them, ‘Let me check first with (head coach) Paul (Chryst).’
“So, I asked Paul and he said, ‘Absolutely.’ And we both really liked the fact that the first game is going to be here.”
Alabama’s other recent home-and-home series additions include Texas (2022 and 2023), West Virginia (2026 and 2027), Notre Dame (2028 and 2029) and Oklahoma (2032 and 2033).
