Clemson fell out of the top 10 in the Associated Press Top 25 poll for the first time in 97 weeks, plummeting to No. 25 in the latest poll, released Sunday.
The drop came after the Tigers (2-2) were stunned by North Carolina State 27-21 in double overtime Saturday.
Clemson, previously ranked No. 9, wasn’t the only college blueblood to fall out of the top 10. Ohio State, which romped 59-7 over Akron, fell one spot to No. 11.
It was status quo at the top of the poll, with Alabama capturing 58 of 62 first-place votes to remain No. 1. Georgia, which got the other four votes, held firm at No. 2.
The top five was rounded out by No. 3 Oregon, Penn State and Iowa. All five teams are 4-0.
Oklahoma (4-0) fell two places to No. 6 after an unimpressive win over West Virginia and is followed by No. 7 Cincinnati (3-0), Arkansas (4-0), Notre Dame (4-0) and Florida (3-1).
For the Razorbacks, who climbed from No. 16 last week, it’s their highest ranking since 2012.

Sandwiched between Ohio State and Texas A&M are a trio of undefeated teams: Ole Miss (3-0), BYU (4-0) and Michigan (4-0).
New to the poll this week are No. 19 Oklahoma Sate (4-0), No. 21 Baylor (4-0), No. 23 NC State (3-1) and Wake Forest (4-0).
Falling out were Wisconsin, Kansas State, North Carolina and Iowa State, which was No. 7 in the preseason Top 25 poll.
