Linebacker Chance Campbell is transferring from Maryland to Ole Miss in a move that reunites him with former Terrapins head coach DJ Durkin.

Campbell, a junior in line to graduate this May, revealed the news on social media Monday.

“Excited for the next step!” Campbell posted on his Twitter account in announcing the move.

Campbell will again play for Durkin, who was fired by Maryland in October 2018 after a 10-week investigation that followed the death of tackle Jordan McNair during summer workouts. Durkin is entering his second season as Ole Miss’ co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach.

Campbell was named All-Big Ten honorable mention for the 2020 season after posting team highs with 42 tackles and 5.5 tackles for loss. He registered a career-best 1.5 sacks last season.
