Senior safety Eric Monroe announced he is transferring from LSU to Texas Tech for his final season.

Monroe posted an image of himself in a Red Raiders uniform Saturday on Twitter with the title “Committed” and the hashtag WreckEm.

Monroe entered the NCAA transfer portal earlier this month. He is scheduled to graduate this summer and will be eligible to play immediately in 2020.

Monroe played in 29 games over the last three seasons with LSU, including 12 games with the undefeated national champion Tigers in 2019. He registered 22 career tackles with one tackle for loss and two passes defensed.

The Houston native was a four-star signee in the Tigers’ 2016 recruiting class, ranked as the No. 3 safety in the nation and the No. 55 player overall by the 247Sports Composite.
