Former Notre Dame wide receiver Michael Young is heading to Cincinnati as a graduate transfer, he announced Sunday on Twitter.

He can play for the Bearcats in 2020 and has two years of eligibility remaining.

“Great team, players, staff, city and community,” Young told 247Sports regarding his decision. “I was fortunate enough to get a chance to be around some of those people and I think that’s what put it over the top for me.

“I’m also a fan of what they do on offense and I see that I have the opportunity, similar to my time at Notre Dame, to go in and contribute right away and be a bigger factor in the offense.”

He played in 29 games for the Fighting Irish, catching 17 passes for 177 yards and two touchdowns.

Cincinnati offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock worked at Notre Dame from 2010-16 and was one of the assistant coaches who recruited Young to South Bend.
