GAME BREAKDOWN

KEY MATCHUP: Texas dominated the Iowa State offensive line last week, with the Cyclones giving up six sacks and unable to generate a consistent running game. In part, however, this was because David Montgomery was suspended by the Big 12 for the opening half, digging the Cyclones a hole they couldn’t get out of. But with the Iowa State defense wearing down and banged up, the offense will need to perform better against Kansas State than it did against the Longhorns.

DRAFT SLANT

–WR Hakeem Butler enters the week with 1,746 receiving yards, eighth-most in school history. The redshirt junior is expected to seriously consider turning professional after this season, and his athletic ability and explosiveness make him an attractive prospect at the next level.

ROSTER REPORT:

–DE Eyioma Uwzurike has been dealing with an injured hamstring since the Texas Tech game on Oct. 27. He is unlikely to play this weekend.

–S DeAndre Payne suffered an upper body injury against Texas. His status for this weekend is uncertain.

–CB Datrone Young has missed the last two games with a shoulder injury. It’s unclear when he will be able to return.
