GAME BREAKDOWN

KEY MATCHUP: Drake is going to come out with a lot of energy on Saturday — the Bulldogs have everything to gain and nothing to lose in this game against its larger in-state rival. As long as Iowa State avoids mistakes, it should have few problems in this one. But if self-inflicted wounds negate the Cyclones’ edge in talent and athleticism, the starters might have to play more of the game and the freshmen won’t see much action.

DRAFT SLANT

–WR Hakeem Butler had five catches for 144 yards and a touchdown against Kansas State. That leaves the redshirt junior with 1,089 receiving yards this season, second-best in ISU history. His 22.5 yards per catch is the second-best average in the country.

ROSTER REPORT:

–DE Eyioma Uwzurike was back in the lineup against Kansas State after missing the past three games with a hamstring injury. He finished with four tackles in the Cyclones’ comeback victory.

–S DeAndre Payne missed the Kansas state game with an upper-body injury. His status for this weekend is uncertain, but he would certainly be ready to return for the bowl game even if he isn’t active this weekend.

–CB Datrone Young missed his third game in a row with a shoulder injury. His status hasn’t been determined for this weekend.
