Former Oklahoma quarterback Jalen Hurts will attend the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., later this month, executive director Jim Nagy confirmed Sunday.

Hurts, the runner-up for the Heisman Trophy this year, is the fifth confirmed quarterback for the game, joining Michigan’s Shea Patterson, Colorado’s Steven Montez, Washington State’s Anthony Gordon and Utah State’s Jordan Love. There are three remaining quarterback spots.

After losing the starting job at Alabama to Tua Tagovailoa last year, Hurts transferred as a graduate to Oklahoma, where he threw for 3,851 yards, 32 touchdowns and eight interceptions in 14 games. He also rushed for 1,298 yards and 20 touchdowns on 233 carries, helping the Sooners reach the College Football Playoff.

Hurts came up short to LSU’s Joe Burrow in both the Heisman race and the CFP semifinals, with his college career ending in a 63-28 loss to the Tigers Dec. 28 in the Peach Bowl.

Many outlets have pegged Hurts as a second-round prospect with a chance to jump into the first round of April’s draft.

He’ll have a chance to boost his stock in Mobile, where he’ll practice and play for a team coached by either the Cincinnati Bengals’ or Detroit Lions’ staff. Senior Bowl week features three full practices before the Jan. 25 game, as well as the chance for coaches and scouts from all 32 teams to meet with players.
