*Kyler Murray – Noteworthy
Baker Mayfield had the luxury of throwing to one of his favorite targets at Oklahoma’s 2018 pro day, with Mark Andrews participating in the workouts. With the exception of Carson Meier, Kyler Murray had previously completed just a handful of passes to his receiving corps when taking the field for NFL scouts Wednesday. He threw to Meier, current OU receiver Charleston Rambo and former Sooners Geno Lewis and Jarvis Baxter. Joel Blumenthal, a Southwestern Oklahoma State product, was also in the mix. “We had a few more guys working out at the pro day last year, where we had to kind of piece Kyler’s together a little bit,” OU coach Lincoln Riley said, noting Rambo had to be shuttled in on a golf cart after class to make the workout. “So there was actually a limited time to work with these guys. I thought considering the limited prep for it, it was pretty darn sharp.” With his top target from last fall, Marquise Brown, still injured, Murray said he was “scrambling” to find three receivers. “It’s my job to put the ball on them. We’re not in sync but I thought today went well,” Murray said. “I’ve only thrown with those guys the past two days. It’s not going to be perfect. You’re going to miss balls or people are going to drop balls. You’ve just gotta move on. I thought today was pretty good.” – Norman Transcript
