Oklahoma quarterback Kendal Thompson has a broken right foot, though the Sooners are hopeful that the sophomore won’t miss much time, head coach Bob Stoops announced Thursday.
“We’re optimistic that Kendal will return early in the season,” Stoops said in a statement released on the team’s Twitter account — @OU_Football. “Kendal will undergo a surgical procedure today. He has a very positive outlook and is eager to rejoin his teammates on the field as soon as possible.”
Thompson was fighting for playing time with Trevor Knight and Blake Bell. It was unclear when the fracture occurred.
