TCU has canceled its spring football game because of a lack of players.

Instead, the Horned Frogs will hold their last spring practice on Friday.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported Tuesday night that TCU has been practicing with just about half of its 85 scholarship players. The Horned Frogs have been without injured players, and the 20 or so members of the Class of 2019 and grad transfers have yet to arrive on campus, cutting down on available numbers.

Players on the sidelines for spring practice include offensive linemen Austin Myers and Lucas Niang, defensive tackle Ross Blacklock, wide receiver Jalen Reagor and running backs Sewo Olonilua and Darius Anderson.

Patterson also announced that center Kelton Hollins underwent surgery on Tuesday for an undisclosed injury, adding he is expected to be ready to play by the time the season starts.
