GAME BREAKDOWN

KEY MATCHUP: The TCU offense versus the Kansas defense. Despite Robinson’s injury and Turpin’s suspension, the Horned Frogs still have a bevy of playmakers and a game against Kansas is the time to let those horses run. How quarterback Michael Collins is able to distribute the ball will be the key, as the Jayhawks, though improved, should be fodder for TCU and a great chance for the Horned Frogs to get back on track.

DRAFT SLANT

–DE Ben Banogu is the easy pick to be the Horned Frogs’ first player taken in the 2019 draft. He’s a speed rusher off the edge and will be looking to build on his junior season in which he had 8.5 sacks and 16.5 tackles for loss. Banogu could’ve tested the draft waters after last season but opted to return. Banogu has 23 stops, a forced fumble that led to a TD return, a fumble return for a score, three sacks and four quarterback hurries this season.

ROSTER REPORT:

–WR KaVontae Turpin was dismissed from the team Tuesday after his arrest for domestic violence early Sunday morning. Turpin was also arrested last spring in Las Cruces, N.M., on multiple charges, including battery against a woman. Turpin pleaded not guilty to the battery charge, as well as a charge for criminal damage to the property of a household member (under $1,000). Turpin also faces a charge of interference with communications from that arrest. A warrant was out for Turpin’s arrest stemming from those charges after he failed to appear for a July 16 pre-trial hearing.

–Three of TCU’s four losses this season are to teams ranked in the top-10: No. 2 Ohio State, No. 7 Texas and No. 9 Oklahoma. With the loss to OU, TCU dropped to 5-6 in its last 11 games versus top-10 teams
