Texas Tech running back Ta’Zhawn Henry announced his intention to transfer.

The rising junior gained 796 all-purpose yards in nine games (two starts) last season.

“… After numerous prayers, and conversations with my family, I feel that it is now in my best interest to enter my name into (the) transfer portal,” Henry posted Monday on Twitter.

Henry would have to sit out the 2020 season, barring a waiver, and will have two years of eligibility left.

The Houston native was a three-star member of the Red Raiders’ 2018 recruiting class.

In 20 games (seven starts), Henry gained 681 rushing yards, 283 receiving yards and 318 yards on kickoff returns. He scored 11 rushing touchdowns and one receiving touchdown.
