On Saturday in Fort Worth, Tex., TCU hosted West Virginia with postseason bowl eligibility still on the line. A win over the visiting Mountaineers would be the Horned Frogs sixth of the season.

For West Virginia, already losers of seven games, the only consolation would be keeping TCU bowl ineligible for only the third time in 19 seasons under head coach Gary Patterson.

Just over two minutes remained in the fourth quarter and for Mountaineers’ quarterback Jarret Doege, the game had not gone well. He had thrown three interceptions, had -7 yards rushing and his team trailed, 17-13.

Then, things changed.

Doege threw to wide receiver Isaiah Esdale, who had only one catch for the day for a four-yard gain. The redshirt sophomore made an over-the-shoulder catch and ran to the end zone, crossing just inside the pylon for a 35-yard scoring play, providing the final margin of victory in the 20-17 win.

Esdale’s game-winning reception is this week’s U.S. Farm Raised Catfish “Catch of the Week.”

For the game, Doege threw for 158 yards and two touchdowns, including the strike to Esdale.

Remember … for the tailgate tent or the pre-game party, U. S. Farm-Raised Catfish is always “the winning catch.”
