Indiana quarterback Michael Penix Jr. will be a game-time decision Saturday at No. 6 Ohio State.

The redshirt freshman is dealing with an unspecified injury, described Thursday by Hoosiers coach Tom Allen as “something not feeling right.”

Allen was stingy with the details but did say the injury shouldn’t be long term and that it did not occur in last weekend’s 52-0 victory over Eastern Illinois.

Penix has completed 38 of 60 passes for 523 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions in two games this year.

Junior backup Peyton Ramsey, who lost his starting job to Penix this summer, would lead the Hoosiers (2-0) against the Buckeyes (2-0) in the Big Ten opener at Columbus if Penix can’t go.

Ramsey started all 12 games for Indiana in 2018, completing 66.0 percent of his passes for 2,875 yards, 19 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. He has passed for 226 yards and two scores this season.
