Michigan junior middle linebacker Devin Bush Jr., who is projected to be a first-round pick in the NFL draft, left Saturday’s 62-39 loss to Ohio State with a leg injury.

Bush was helped off the field during the third quarter and could not put any weight on his left leg.

The 5-11, 232-pound Pembroke Pines, Fla., is projected to be the No. 31 pick in the 2019 draft by Rob Rang, senior analyst at NFLDraftScout.com.

In 2017, Bush was a finalist for the Butkus Award, given to the nation’s top linebacker, and earned second-team All-America honors while making the Academic All-Big Ten squad. He is a finalist for the 2018 Butkus and the Bronco Nagurski Trophy, awarded to the nation’s top defensive player.

Bush has a team-high 79 tackles after recording six Saturday — three solo — and has 185 for his career, including 10 sacks. He also broke up a pass Saturday.

Bush’s father played eight NFL seasons as a defensive back with the Atlanta Falcons, St. Louis Rams and Cleveland Browns. The elder Bush returned two of his seven career interceptions for touchdowns.
