Starting center Jack Miller has decided to leave the Michigan Wolverines football program. The fifth-year senior started all 12 games last season, and it does not appear he plans to seek a transfer to play elsewhere.

“This week I made the difficult decision to not return for my fifth season at Michigan,” Miller wrote on Twitter. “In short, I have accomplished all of my goals. I will graduate with a free education from the best public university in the world and have played a lot of football at the highest possible level. It is time to start the next chapter of my life. I’m am eternally grateful for the opportunity Michigan has given me. Thank you to everyone who has made this dream come true.”

Miller was given the Hugh R. Rader Memorial Award as the Wolverines’ top center last season. The 6-foot-4, 297-pounder has appeared in 22 career games, including 16 starts, and is a three-time letterwinner.

Redshirt sophomore Patrick Kugler finished last season as Miller’s primary backup.
