GAME BREAKDOWN

KEY MATCHUP: Ohio State, led by QB Dwayne Haskins and a talented cast of receivers, ranks No. 2 in the FBS in passing with 383.8 yards per game. Nebraska’s secondary, meanwhile, has been torched for much of the season. The Cornhuskers rank 110th in pass defense, allowing 272 yards per game.

“Those guys are good, they’ve got good receivers … probably one of the strongest groups that we’ll face up to date,” said sophomore defensive back Dicaprio Bootle. “The good thing is we’ve got athletes in the back end too that can cover, that can run with these guys. They’re great players, but we can be great players, too.”

DRAFT SLANT

–WR Stanley Morgan Jr., after giving way to J.D. Spielman for much of the season in the receiving corps, led Nebraska in receiving for the second straight game against Bethune-Cookman. The senior had seven catches for 82 yards and two touchdowns in the Cornhuskers’ second straight victory.

ROSTER REPORT:

–DL Deontre Thomas is questionable with a hand injury and may be redshirted.

–RB Wyatt Mazour, who has only had 10 carries all season, touched the ball five times and gained 55 yards on the ground against Bethune-Cookman.

–LB Luke Gifford, who had three tackles and a sack against Bethune-Cookman, now has at least one sack in five of eight games this season. “We’re really confident with where we’re at and we’re excited for this weekend,” he said.
