GAME BREAKDOWN

KEY MATCHUP: Nebraska’s offense was clicking when Devine Ozigbo and the rest of the Cornhuskers backfield was able to churn out yards on the ground against Northwestern. Nebraska, which ranks No. 44 in the FBS in rushing (192.7 yards per game) goes up against the No. 28 rush defense in Minnesota. The Gophers cough up just 121.5 yards per game on the ground. If Nebraska wants to find its first win of the year, the Cornhuskers have to set the tone of the game on the ground.

DRAFT SLANT

–WR Stanley Morgan, a 6-foot-1 senior wideout, has clearly taken a backseat to sophomore J.D. Spielman in Nebraska’s offensive scheme. Morgan had just two catches for 31 yards, both season lows, against Northwestern. If Morgan wants to keep his draft stock, he has to become a more reliable target for Adrian Martinez.

ROSTER REPORT:

–DB CJ Smith (leg) is questionable for Minnesota

–WR J.D. Spielman is five catches away from becoming the 12th player in Nebraska history with 100 career grabs.

–QB Adrian Martinez is one of just two quarterbacks nationally, along with Oklahoma’s Kyler Murray, to average 225 passing yards and 50 rushing yards per game.
