Ohio State senior defensive end Jonathon Cooper will miss Saturday’s game against Cincinnati with an undisclosed injury.

The school confirmed in its weekly status report on Friday that Cooper will be unavailable against the Bearcats. The report did not disclose the specific injury for Cooper, who also sat out the Buckeyes’ season-opening 45-21 win over Florida Atlantic.

Cooper collected 25 tackles and three sacks while starting all 13 games last season for Ohio State. He earned honorable mention All-Big Ten honors following the campaign.

Fellow senior captain C.J. Saunders, a receiver, will also miss his second straight game with an undisclosed injury. Saunders has 27 career catches for 294 yards and one touchdown.
