Ohio State junior defensive end Chase Young remains indefinitely suspended but is practicing with the team, coach Ryan Day said Tuesday.

Day did not provide any information about the ongoing investigation into a possible NCAA violation committed by Young when he accepted a loan from a family friend, which he said was repaid.

He reportedly borrowed the money so that his girlfriend could buy a plane ticket to get to California for the Rose Bowl in January.

“Yeah, I don’t have any update for you right now,” Day told reporters at his weekly news conference. “It’s an ongoing process right now. But there’s no type of update I can give right now.”

While the Buckeyes do not know when Young will return, they are including him in preparations for Saturday’s game at Rutgers.

“We will prepare for him to be back this week,” Day said. “He will practice this week, and then we will go from there.”

He missed last Saturday’s 73-14 win over Maryland.

The 6-foot-6 Young leads the nation with 13.5 sacks.
