Penn State quarterback Christian Hackenberg left Saturday’s TaxSlayer Bowl against Georgia with a right shoulder injury.

The injury to Hackenberg’s throwing arm occurred in the second quarter. He appeared to get hurt after taking a hit but stayed in the game a little longer before exiting.

ESPN reported that Hackenberg received X-rays after heading to the locker room. Hackenberg went 8 for 14 for 139 yards with an interception.

Hackenberg was replaced by Trace McSorley. Penn State trailed 17-3 at the half.
