Louisiana Tech started fast against South Alabama at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile on Saturday. Two Jaqwis Dancy touchdown runs and a scoring pass from quarterback J’Mar Smith to running back Bobby Holly built a 20-7 halftime lead.

Midway through the third quarter, the score was 23-7 and the Bulldogs looked to be in good shape.

But, two Jaguar touchdowns cut the margin to 23-20 and Louisiana Tech held that precarious lead with just a little over two minutes remaining in the game. That’s when Smith and wide receiver Adrian Hardy made the difference.

The junior quarterback hit Hardy with an 8-yard strike in the end zone. The extra point extended the lead to 10 points and the Bulldogs held on for the opening game victory. For the day, the sophomore from Houston, Tex., had three catches for 73 yards.

His game-clinching reception is this week’s U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish “Catch of the Week.”

Remember … for the tailgate tent or the pre-game party, U. S. Farm-Raised Catfish is always “the winning catch.”

The Catfish Institute, or TCI, was formed in 1986 by catfish farmers and feed manufacturers to raise consumer awareness of the positive qualities of U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish. Since its formation, U.S. per capita consumption has more than doubled.

U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish is a sustainable and environmentally friendly seafood product. The National Audubon Society, Monterey Bay Aquarium, and Environmental Defense all recommend U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish as a safe environmental choice. To find out more, visit www.uscatfish.com.
