Florida State, Alabama top AP poll

Alabama’s victory over Mississippi State on Saturday caused significant changes at the top of the latest Associated Press top 25 poll.

Florida State moved up from second to take over the No. 1 spot after coming from behind to beat Miami.

Alabama knocked Mississippi State out of the top spot. The Crimson Tide moved up from fourth to No. 2. The Bulldogs fell to No. 4.

Florida State received 43 first place votes. Alabama got 16 votes and No. 3 Oregon picked up the remaining vote.

TCU rounded out the top five.

Wisconsin was the biggest climber in the poll, leaping eight spots to No. 14. Georgia and Georgia Tech each moved up seven spots to No. 9 and No. 17, respectively. Missouri entered the poll at No. 19.

Auburn fell seven spots to No. 16 and Nebraska fell 10 spots to No. 21.

Notre Dame, Clemson and LSU fell out of the poll.
