Va Tech, BYU enter AP poll

Virginia Tech was rewarded for its 35-21 upset of Ohio State by debuting in the Associated Press top 25 poll at No. 17 on Sunday.

Brigham Young also entered the poll at No. 25.

Florida State remained in the top spot but Oregon moved ahead of Alabama for the No. 2 spot. The Ducks (2-0) topped Michigan State 46-27. The Spartans fell from seventh to No. 13. Alabama fell to third despite blanking Florida Atlantic 41-0.

Ohio State (1-1) took a tumble in the poll after losing to Virginia Tech. The Buckeyes dropped from eighth to No. 22.

The rest of the top 10 were No. 4 Oklahoma, followed by Auburn, Georgia, Texas A&M, Baylor, Southern Cal and LSU.
