Terrill Hanks – Noteworthy
Terrill Hanks entered the Reeses’ Senior Bowl looking to prove to NFL scouts and pro coaches that he could digest a game plan and perform on the field. The former New Mexico State linebacker followed through with a game-high eight tackles in the Jan. 26 college football all star game while playing a position that he had never played before. “It was a fun and hectic week,” Hanks said. “I had to learn that defense in four days and learn a whole new position. That was one of the things that I was proud of myself because I was able to take that different teaching and I was able to apply it on the field. Every day, I got better at something.” Since the Senior Bowl, Hanks returned to California to continue training at Club EXOS in preparation for this weekend’s NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.
Linebackers and defensive linemen report to Indianapolis on Thursday and will take the field at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday on NFL Network. Hanks has been working as a prospect at weak side linebacker after playing strong side linebacker at New Mexico State, where he was a four-year starter. “He was taught assignment football at New Mexico State, so for him, it was knowing that he’s in the right system with a team and giving him the ability to play,” said Bardia Ghahremani, who represents Hanks for International Sports Agency. “The Combine for a lot of players is a chance to make a name for yourself and force teams to go watch more film.
