Cornerback Landen Bartleson no longer is part of Notre Dame’s Class of 2020 after his arrest on burglary and other charges in his hometown of Danville, Ky.

Head coach Brian Kelly made the announcement in a statement issued Saturday. Bartleson, ranked as a three-star cornerback on the 247Sports composite, signed with Notre Dame on Dec. 18 and was expected to enroll in June.

“After reviewing all of the facts available to us and speaking with the Bartleson family, we informed them that Landen will no longer be welcomed as a member of our football program,” Kelly said. “This incident is very much out of character for the man we have come to know and we wish Landen and his family well.”

Bartleson was one of three teenagers accused of breaking into a business and stealing nine guns on Thursday night, according to a report on Saturday.

Lexington, Ky., television station WKYT said Bartleson, 18, and two 16-year-olds face charges of criminal mischief, burglary and receiving stolen property.

WKYT said police responded to a report of a burglary at a store and later took the three suspects into custody. Police also located a stolen car linked to the suspects, and all nine guns were found in it, according to the report.
