Notre Dame star linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah announced Monday that he is declaring for the NFL draft.
The Butkus Award winner as the nation’s top linebacker announced his decision on social media.
“After much prayer and wise counsel, I have decided to declare for the 2021 NFL Draft,” Owusu-Koramoah said.

Owusu-Koramoah is considered a probable top-10 pick in the draft.
Owusu-Koramoah earned Atlantic Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Year honors for his strong play. He posted 62 tackles — 11 for losses, including 1.5 sacks — three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
In 27 career games at Notre Dame, Owusu-Koramoah had 142 tackles, five forced fumbles and four recoveries. He also had 24.5 tackles for losses, including seven sacks.
Owusu-Koramoah redshirted in 2017 and saw action in just two games the following season before breaking out in 2019 with 80 tackles. He had 13.5 stops for losses, including 5.5 sacks, that season.
Owusu-Koramoah was a finalist for two top defensive player of the year awards — the Nagurski Trophy and Bednarik Award. Tulsa linebacker Zaven Collins won the Nagurski while the Bednarik hasn’t yet been awarded.
