Quarterback Everett Golson was readmitted to Notre Dame on Friday, and that means he will be available to practice with the football team after its upcoming bowl game.
Golson was Notre Dame’s starting quarterback last year, when the Irish went unbeaten through the regular season before losing to Alabama in the national championship game.
He became academically ineligible last spring and reapplied for admission to Notre Dame in mid-November.
Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly said last week Golson would not practice with the team immediately and would not be returning to a normal practice schedule until after Notre Dame plays Rutgers in the Pinstripe Bowl on Dec. 28.
Golson will try to regain the starting quarterback job in the spring. Senior Tommy Rees is scheduled to be Notre Dame’s starting quarterback in its bowl game.
