Redshirt freshman Sean Chambers is Wyoming’s No. 1 quarterback following the conclusion of spring practice.

The final depth chart was released this week, showing Chambers ahead of Tyler Vander Waal, who lost the starting job to Chambers late last season.

Chambers took over in the second half of a game against Utah State in Week 8 and started three more games before breaking his leg.

Since he appeared in just four games, Chambers was allowed to invoke his redshirt status and maintain four years of eligibility.

Vander Waal returned after Chambers was hurt and led the Cowboys to wins in the final two games, but was unable to regain the job this spring.

Wyoming players will begin summer conditioning on May 27 and open camp practice on Aug. 2.

The Cowboys host Missouri on Aug. 31 in the season opener.
