Arizona State punter Michael Turk will be allowed to return to the team, despite entering the 2020 NFL Draft, hiring an agent and taking part in the NFL combine.

Turk was not selected in the draft in April. When he went unsigned in post-draft free agency, Arizona State assisted him in appealing his case to regain his college eligibility.

The appeal cited Turk’s inability to work out for teams at their facilities because of the coronavirus pandemic. ASU’s Pro Day also was canceled.

The Arizona Republic reported Turk is the first player to regain NCAA eligibility after going through the draft process.

Turk has two years of eligibility remaining.

The nephew of former NFL All-Pro punter Matt Turk, he was a first-team All-Pac-12 selection in 2019. He landed 36 of his 67 punts inside the 20-yard line and averaged 46 yards per kick.
