PLAYERS TO WATCH

–WR Laviska Shenault Jr. is listed as day-to-day while he recovers from a toe injury sustained at USC. The sophomore leads the nation with 130 yards per game to go along with 11 touchdowns (five rushing).

–RB Travon McMillian saw his streak of three straight 100-yard efforts come to an end versus the Trojans. The senior transfer from Virginia Tech manage just 32 yards, his lowest output since rushing for 25 yards in Week 2 against Nebraska. McMillian (93.3 yards per game) has 540 yards and four touchdowns on the year, as well as four 100-yard performances.

–DE Mustafa Johnson added another 1.5 tackles-for-loss against USC to give the sophomore 10.5 on the year. With at least one take-down behind the line of scrimmage in each game this year, Johnson ranks behind only Colin Schooler (11.5) of Arizona and Utah’s Chase Hansen (11) for tops in the Pac-12.

–ILB Nate Landman’s torrid start continued with 10 tackles against USC to give him three games with double-digit take-downs. The sophomore has quickly become a team leader, boasting 55 tackles on the season.

SERIES HISTORY: Washington leads Colorado 11-5-1. The Buffs knocked off Washington in the 1996 Holiday Bowl but it’s been all Huskies since. Washington has won eight straight in the aftermath of that bowl game, including a 6-0 mark in Pac-12 play.

QUOTE TO NOTE: “We had a really good, spirited padded practice today. I thought all our captains that are healthy did an excellent job of leading today. I thought both lines practiced really hard and were physical. They spoke with their actions.” — Colorado head coach Mike MacIntyre on his team’s response to its first loss at USC.
