PLAYERS TO WATCH
–LB Cody Barton made his first career interception in the third quarter against UCLA last week. He led Utah with seven tackles and also had a pass breakup.
–ATH Britain Covey threw a seven-yard touchdown pass at UCLA last week and is 3-of-3 passing this season for two touchdowns. He led Utah in receiving with five catches for 47 yards. Covey had a season-long 36-yard punt return and had two returns for 66 yards and also had 19 yards rushing (one carry) for 132 all-purpose yards.
–RB Zack Moss had his first career 200-yard rushing game with 211 yards on 26 carries with three rushing touchdowns at UCLA last week. He had his fifth 100-yard rushing game this season and the 10th of his career, which is tied for fourth-most in a career at Utah. Moss’s three rushing touchdowns is a career high and is the most since Joe Williams scored four against UCLA in 2016 (Williams also had Utah’s last 200-yard rushing game, vs. Indiana in 2016). Moss has 22 career rushing touchdowns, which is tied for fifth-most at Utah. Moss had a 60-yard rush, his second-longest run of the season.
–LB Chase Hansen had three pass breakups and five tackles for the Utes against UCLA.
SERIES HISTORY: Utah trails ASU 21-8 in their series. The Utes won consecutive games in 2015 and 2016 before the Sun Devils prevailed 30-10 last season at Salt Lake City. Utah’s 49-26 win at ASU two years ago snapped an eight-game losing streak at Tempe.
