State standout receiver River Cracraft is out for the season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee Saturday during the Cougars’ 56-21 victory over California, according to multiple reports.

Cracraft, a senior, was injured in the third quarter on his ninth and final catch of the contest. He was helped off the field by trainers, and television cameras displayed Washington State’s medical staff working on the knee.

Cracraft matched his career high of three touchdown receptions before leaving. He had 87 receiving yards.

The serious injury means Cracraft will finish his Washington State career with 218 receptions, second most in program history. He ranks sixth in school history in both receiving yardage (2,638) and touchdown receptions (20).

This season, Cracraft had 53 catches for 701 yards and five touchdowns.

No. 23 Washington State (8-2, 7-0) has won eight consecutive games and leads the Pac-12 North. The Cougars play Pac-12 North leader Colorado (8-2, 6-1) this Saturday. The Buffaloes are ranked 12th nationally.
