GAME BREAKDOWN

KEY MATCHUP: Washington’s front seven vs. UCLA’s offensive line. Washington has eight sacks through five games, well off the pace the Huskies set last season in accruing 39. Losing defensive end Shane Bowman may not help boost that output but facing UCLA’s thin offensive line might.

The Bruins have allowed 15 sacks through four games, and that porous play has been central to UCLA’s struggles. Quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson said following a 38-16 loss at Colorado that the Buffs’ aggressive pass-rush limited the Bruins’ offense. Washington can set a similar tone blitzing the Bruins on Saturday.

DRAFT SLANT

–RB Myles Gaskin has been consistent through five games of his senior season but has yet to erupt for a big game. With UCLA’s defense allowing 15 rushing touchdowns through four games, the talented Gaskin might have his best opportunity yet to add to his ever-improving career portfolio.

ROSTER REPORT:

–DE Shane Bowman sustained a foot injury and could miss the remainder of the regular season.

–C Nick Harris continues to deal with the uncertainty of a knee injury that sidelined him the first two games of the season. He is questionable for Saturday’s game at UCLA.

–LB DJ Beavers missed the game against BYU with an undisclosed injury.

–CB Austin Joyner missed the BYU game due to a concussion.
