Brian Robinson Jr., No. 3 Alabama’s leading rusher, could miss the SEC Championship Game this Saturday against top-ranked Georgia with a lower-body injury.

Robinson left Saturday’s win over Auburn early and did not return. Alabama coach Nick Saban said Sunday that the fifth-year senior has a “lower-body pulled muscle.”

Robinson has 1,016 rushing yards (4.9 yards per carry) and 14 touchdowns on the season. The Crimson Tide have received only six rushing touchdowns from players besides Robinson, including two from quarterback Bryce Young.

Trey Sanders is the only other healthy scholarship running back on the roster.

Alabama (11-1) enters Saturday’s game against Georgia, whose defense is considered the best in the country, with its College Football Playoff hopes at stake.

“We’ll kind of see how he progresses through the course of the week and see where he’s at,” Saban said.
