Auburn without two key defenders vs. Ole Miss

No. 11 Auburn was without two starters on defense at kickoff of the Tigers’ home game against Ole Miss on Saturday night in Auburn, Ala.

Defensive end Marlon Davidson was out with back spasms and safety Jeremiah Dinson had a virus. They were not dressed out for the game.

Dinson is the Tigers’ leading tackler with 61 stops that include a pair of sacks. He also has an interception. Davidson has 34 tackles, including team-highs with nine tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks.

Ole Miss lost a pair of key offensive players, guard Ben Brown and running back Scottie Phillips, to ankle injuries on its first series of the game. They were not expected to return.
