Auburn junior running back JaTarvious Whitlow has entered the NCAA transfer portal, multiple media outlets reported Wednesday.

AL.com first reported the move by Whitlow, who led the Tigers in rushing in each of the last two seasons.

Whitlow had 150 carries for 787 yards and six touchdowns in 2018 before adding 10 scores on the ground the following year. He finished with 156 carries for 763 yards in 2019 despite missing parts of three games with a knee injury.

The Alabama native, who is not a graduate transfer, will have to sit out the 2020 season unless he receives an immediate-eligibility waiver.

Auburn is expected to turn to D.J. Williams next season. Williams rushed 84 times for 400 yards and two touchdowns in 10 games in 2019.
