The No. 9 Florida Gators won’t be at full strength when they begin their SEC season Saturday at Kentucky.

Wide receiver Kadarius Toney (shoulder) will miss “a couple” of weeks and potential first-round cornerback CJ Henderson (ankle) is doubtful because of injuries, Gators coach Dan Mullen said Monday.

Henderson has a sprained left ankle and would play only if he is “100 percent healthy,” Mullen said. The Gators (2-0) are already limited in the secondary after Brian Edwards and John Huggins departed this offseason, and safety Brad Stewart was suspended before the season began.

Stewart, a junior who started seven games in 11 appearances last season, was considered a co-starter on the depth chart with senior Jeawon Taylor before the suspension.

Henderson, a junior, has three tackles and two pass break-ups in 2019 after totaling 60 tackles, three sacks and six interceptions over two previous seasons.

Toney, a junior, has three receptions for 72 yards and a touchdown this season. In his two previous seasons, he made 40 catches for 412 yards and one touchdown.
