Feleipe Franks, who started 24 career games at quarterback for Florida, announced Sunday he is leaving the Gators.

“I plan on exploring my options of entering the NFL Draft or playing my final year elsewhere,” Franks wrote on social media. “Thank you everybody for believing in me, especially all my teammates I’ve played with here.”

Franks started eight games in 2017 and all 13 in 2018, but he suffered a season-ending broken ankle in the third game of this season on Sept. 14.

He threw for 2,457 yards, 24 touchdowns and six interceptions in 2018.

After Franks’ injury, junior Kyle Trask took over at quarterback for 10-2 Florida, completing 213 of 315 passes for 2,636 yards, 24 touchdowns and six interceptions.
